Modulo Ciudadanos (Filadelfia and Nueva York), Colonia N\u00e1poles, Mexico City.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Ben\nPeterson&nbsp;<\/strong>will\nbe coming to Mexico City for a production and research residency.\nThis project is done in conjunction with&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.thelabprogram.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">The\nLab Program<\/a>&nbsp;residency.\nThe exhibition,&nbsp;<em><strong>Modelo\nCiudadano<\/strong><\/em>&nbsp;or\nModel Citizen, is a play on words and will take place in one of the\nmany brutalist small towers around the city called Modulos\nCiudadonos, that now serve as &#8216;citizen information centers&#8217;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\nPeterson\nwill build maquettes from the everyday materials he encounters as a\n&#8216;tourist&#8217; of public architecture and of the legacy of modernism in\nMexico City. The sculptures will reflect their surroundings, existing\nequally as architectural models and cultural relics.The use of the\npublic structure housing ,the Modulo Ciudadanos, connects Peterson&#8217;s\nresearch and production directly into the quotidian and functional\nworkings of public architecture in the city.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\n<strong>Ben\nPeterson&nbsp;<\/strong>(b. 1977&nbsp;Hawthorne,\nNevada) received a BFA from California College of the Arts, San\nFrancisco, in 2004. His recent sculptures introduce varied plaster\nand encaustic finishes, elaborating on the vocabulary of his past\nceramic works. While drawing influence from the origins of modernist\narchitecture \u2013 Constructivism and Brutalism \u2013 and the design of\nfunctional objects, Peterson\u2019s sculptures are ultimately\nconstructed according to intuition. Este proyecto se realiza en conjunto con <strong>The Lab Program<\/strong>. La exhibici\u00f3n &#8220;Modelo Ciudadano&#8221; es un juego de palabras y tendr\u00e1 lugar en una de las torres brutalistas de la ciudad llamada &#8216;M\u00f3dulo Ciudadano&#8217;, la cual sirve como &#8216;centro de informaci\u00f3n ciudadana&#8217;.<br><br>Peterson construir\u00e1 maquetas a partir de los materiales cotidianos que encuentra como &#8220;turista&#8221; de la arquitectura p\u00fablica y del legado del modernismo en la Ciudad de M\u00e9xico. Las esculturas reflejar\u00e1n su entorno, existiendo igualmente como modelos arquitect\u00f3nicos y reliquias culturales.
